With almost 30 years of teaching experience, Christine Smith is a proficient vocal coach with a passion for bringing sacred music to life. Under her coaching, students marvel at her ability to influence their sound and increase their vocal capacity. With choirs, her specialty is creating a superb blend, while finding truth and beauty in every lyric. She holds her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from MacMurray College (1992), and her Masters of Science in Music Education from the University of Illinois (1997).
Christine actively teaches and performs in her community, directing countless musicals and madrigal dinners—enchanting musical evenings complete with a Renaissance meal, decor, and full costume. She loves teenagers and spends every summer at the Green Pastures Performing Arts Camp where prayer, Bible study, drama, and music merge together into an incredible avalanche of middle and high school energy.
Currently, she serves as the Music Director and organist at First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, IL, and recently, was a Director of Music and Choirs at MacMurray College. Christine and her husband Brad have three beautiful daughters, and in Christine’s words, “many other children thru Christ’s love.”
