Questions?

Helpful answers below!

Is there really no cost?

There is no cost to participate; lodging and meals are also provided during service dates.

If you would like to help contribute to the cost of service weeks/weekends, donations are accepted in person or online, but not required.

If you’d like to come earlier or extend your stay, regular lodging/meal costs apply, pending availability.

Is there any free time?

As schedules allow, we may include a few fun group activities or provide time for families to enjoy the park, lake, or trails on their own.

Below is an approximate schedule, if it’s helpful:

8:00 AM Wisdom Search
8:30 Breakfast
9:30 Project/Free Time
12:00 Noon Prayer
12:30 PM Lunch
1:30 PM Project/Free Time
5:30 PM Dinner
7:00 PM Evening Session
8:30 PM Free Time
10:00 PM Quiet Time

What types of projects will we help with?

Family Service Weeks and Weekends focus on general projects that can be completed safely by larger groups and require minimal tools or specialized skills.

These projects help support our ongoing daily work, while our primary focus remains on spiritual growth through morning devotions, noon prayer, and an evening session.

The work itself is not the primary focus; rather, it is an opportunity to gather together with fellow believers in service.

What about room & board?

Families will be housed in our two-story dormitories. Linens and towels are provided. If you want to use your personal camper, that can be arranged, too.

Service Weeks
Lodging is provided for a Monday check-in (after 3:00 PM) and a Saturday check-out (by 12 noon).  Meals include Monday dinner,  Tuesday–Friday breakfast/lunch/dinner, and Saturday brunch.

Service Weekend
Lodging is provided for a Thursday check-in (after 3:00 PM) and a Sunday check-out (by 11:00 AM). Meals include Thursday dinner, Friday breakfast/lunch/dinner, and end with Saturday brunch/dinner. Sunday breakfast is not provided.

We will confirm your lodging and meal reservations after your application is approved.

Can I come early?

Yes! Regular meal/lodging rates apply.

Please note that we would not be able to facilitate projects, activities, or support staff until the select Family Week/Weekend is underway.

Please call us at 903-636-9201 to check availability and pricing.

What about little children?

We hope your entire family is able to join us, regardless of their age and capabilities! As children need to take naps or would prefer to play nearby, please feel free to step away as needed or appoint a family member to watch over them. Some tasks will be available for mothers and older siblings caring for younger children such as helping with laundry, weeding or other outdoor work, light cleaning, and possibly painting. The playground in the campground will be available for families to utilize during the week. We are unable to provide childcare, and we kindly ask parents/family members to supervise their children at all times.

Do you allow pets?

No, we’re sorry! We have a strict no-pet policy. Service animals are welcome with prior registration and documentation.

Is there a packing list?

Please use your judgment and bring clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, stained, or painted.

Our dress code requires loose-fitting clothing that covers the full torso and thighs, even when active/working. No sleeveless tops, spandex, or other fitted clothing.

Helpful items may include toys for the little ones, water bottles, and comfy work shoes. Tools & project equipment are provided.

Laundry facilities are available on-site, if that’s helpful. It costs $3 to wash and dry one load of clothes ($1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry).

Join us!

We can’t wait to hear from you.
