Big Sandy Family Service Week
A unique opportunity to learn, serve, and fellowship
Overview
Are you looking for an opportunity for your family to serve the Lord in ministry, without physically crossing borders? Would you like to model and have your family observe others as examples of Christ-like servants? Do you desire to fellowship with others who are laboring in Kingdom service? If so pray as a family and consider applying for one of our Family Service Weeks. Your family will work together on various projects on the Big Sandy campus, fellowship and serve with staff members and other families, help us collate and prepare Gospel booklets for around the world, and join in with others in hearing messages from the Word of God.

While this will vary greatly depending on which Family Service Week you register for, here are some ideas of what we will be doing together:
- Cleaning up after the previous events, including the campground area.
- Housekeeping: cleaning dorms and cabins.
- Clearing fences and trails, weeding, mulching, and painting.
- Other various campus projects.
What kind of clothing should we bring?
- Clothes for painting, ages 10 and older.
- Proper fitting work gloves, safety glasses for everyone, and sturdy shoes.
- Hats or caps for the sun and sunscreen
- Long sleeve shirts
- Some type of rain gear
- Something for poison ivy
Will we be serving indoors or outdoors?
With the possibility of rain, we will have work assignments for both indoors and outdoors.
Will our whole family be working together?
We’re going to do our best to keep your whole family together, but there will be times that the younger ones won’t be able to participate in the same tasks as the older ones.
Occasionally, fathers and sons may work on a project by themselves.
What about our younger children?
Children under 10 years of age will need to be supervised by a family member.
What about mothers with babies?
You are welcome to join us! We understand that your participation will be limited.
Can we serve for just a few days rather than the whole week?
Yes, you may come for a few days at the beginning or end of the week. The lodging schedule can be adjusted according to the number of nights that you stay, but the registration fee will remain the same.
