A favorite preacher for many, Dr. Pope speaks at conferences from coast to coast, and spanning the globe. His pastoral ministry has several hallmarks: a vibrant prayer life, a reputation for rightly dividing the Word of Truth, a compassion for the lost, and a love for his congregation. A graduate of Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana, the Lord led him from serving in evangelism ministry and on faculty with Hyles-Anderson to becoming the pastor of Christchurch Baptist Fellowship in Houston, TX. Nearly forty years later, he still faithfully pastors there. John married his lovely wife, Barbara, in 1973, and has been serving the Lord with her ever since. He and Barbara have four children and live in Houston, TX.
